Straight into assistant manager role.

Generally outperforming by beating targets for multiple periods

As the company is so large and expansive in its functions, there is endless opportunity to make upwards and lateral moves within the business.

I'm not convinced this is an easy progression for career development within the organisation. I imagine it's easier to progress by moving between banks and up, opposed to staying.

While the path to the top may not be as clear as a big 4 consulting company, there are ample opportunities in the bank to apply for new roles and secondments. When you finish the 18 month graduate program you also get a really good promotion.

Lots of internal politics and the loudest person in the room wins

Being such a large organisation, there are plenty of opportunities to secure a permanent role/ get promoted, so long as you are conscious of building up your internal network. Most jobs are only advertised internally, and hiring managers are more likely to offer a role to someone they already know.

Such a wide area lots of growth opportunities

Moving on from the grad program, it is almost guaranteed to be a role with more responsibility and pay.

Available areas for me to roll of into from the graduate program

Strong promotional opportunities in certain teams. others are very heavy in analysts and therefore would limiit the chance of progression.

The opportunities at ANZ are fantastic! Networking helps to find promotion opportunities and mentors that will support you when roles become available.

Clear pathway in business banking, graduate, assistant manager, development relationship manager, relationship manager, which takes years of building experience to progress to relationship manager given the responsibility (lending approvals, compliance responsibility etc.)that goes with the role.

From meeting with grad program alumni, it seems there is great potential for career progression. A hard-working ethic, great networking and passion for the role will help with this.

There is a lot of opportunity for me to progress in my career, however given I am still a graduate I am not entirely sure what makes promotions come about.

Looking forward to rolling off the grad program, the grad team have been very good at explaining the whole process to us.
