Please describe the interview process and assessments.
Easy and well timed and very flexible.
Graduate, Melbourne - 03 Sep 2024
Interview process and assessments were fairly standard with nothing majorly out there or surprising.
Graduate, Brisbane - 03 Sep 2024
The interview process was exceptionally comfortable and seamless. Throughout, I never felt pressured or rushed. The experience was smooth and supportive, making it a positive and stress-free part of my job search.
Graduate, Melbourne - 16 Aug 2024
Great graduate experience.
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Aug 2024
Completed a game-based assessment, personality questionnaire, and then a digital interview. After this I got invited to a live interview with two interviewers, and then was given an offer.
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Aug 2024
The interview process and assessments were really quick and streamlined. They were scheduled very promptly and the turnaround time from one stage to the next was the best I have seen from an organisation. The game-based assessment was engaging as it differed from the same old assessments you usually do.
Graduate, Melbourne - 28 Jun 2024
We're currently developing an unbiased hiring process for equitable hiring.
Graduate, Perth - 27 Jun 2024
The interview process was straightforward and informative. They gave us the tools to succeed. For the assessments, we just needed to be ourselves.
Graduate, Melbourne - 27 Jun 2024
The grad program hiring process was pretty long and comprehensive, but I also think it was a good experience as I had to go through many different rounds which exposed me to the different tasks/interviews I could experience in the future.
Graduate, Melbourne - 26 Jun 2024
I last interviewed for the internship and it was an ok process but there was delayed communications about updates which caused some
Graduate, Melbourne - 26 Jun 2024
Of all the graduate programs I applied for, it was the fastest. 35 days between submitting my round 1 application and receiving a verbal job offer!
Graduate, Sydney - 26 Jun 2024
Games, video interview, tests, assessment centre
Graduate, Melbourne - 25 Mar 2022
Very thorough initially, it can be tricky to get through all the steps. But the interview process was great, they made sure you were really comfortable and I didn't feel super nervous thanks to that.
Graduate, Melbourne - 25 Mar 2022
1st half - practical task used to assess the applicant's ability to interact with a client. 2nd half - general discussion about the applicant and why they would like to work at the company.
Graduate, Melbourne - 25 Mar 2022
Online video submissions responding to set interview questions and then a group center that consisted of a role play and then a face to face interview with grad hiring team
Graduate, Sydney - 22 Mar 2022
1. Online application 2. Video recordings answering interview questions 3. Quiz 4. In person interview
Graduate, Gippsland - 22 Mar 2022

Graduate, Melbourne - 27 Jan 2022
The assessments were fun and engaging, and didn't intimidate me as much as some of the other organisations I have applied at. The video interviews were great way to share who I am with ANZ, and the in person assessment centre was engaging, thought-provoking yet supported by the interviewers.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Jan 2022
Online assessments/questionnaires, behavioral testing, online interview (with pre recorded questions and required to record your answer), zoom interview with relevant managers from the company.
Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Jan 2022
Online application, then online assessments (cognitive and personality), then video interview, then panel assessment centre. When I applied it was during covid so was all virtual.
Graduate, Sydney - 17 Jan 2022
What questions were you asked in your interviews?
Describe yourself and qualities?
Graduate, Melbourne - 03 Sep 2024
General questions about previous experience and no real technical questions.
Graduate, Brisbane - 03 Sep 2024
A lot of STAR method questions about my experiences in Uni and in previous roles
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Aug 2024
Asked about my motivations for wanting to work at the company, and then standard behavioural interview questions. We were encouraged by the recruiter during the interview briefing to make use of the STAR method to answering questions.
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Aug 2024
Very similar questions to other graduate programs I applied for. Questions around past experiences where you may have faced an obstacle, needed to learn/teach something, collaborating with others. The responses needed to be shaped based on the S.T.A.R method.
Graduate, Melbourne - 28 Jun 2024
Why are you interested in the graduate program? What would you like to see the bank introduce for customers?
Graduate, Perth - 27 Jun 2024
The typical questions.
Graduate, Melbourne - 27 Jun 2024
Nothing technical, mainly just behavioural questions that were trying to get you to show the STAR interview technique.
Graduate, Melbourne - 26 Jun 2024
I was asked general questions about what my interests are, how I would respond in different situations and other behavioural questions.
Graduate, Melbourne - 26 Jun 2024
1. Played a series of games to test pattern recognition, logic and cognitive skills. 2. Values based questions where we were asked to rank a list of responses according to how closely it match our response to the question. 3. A few icebreakers and behavioural questions via a live Teams video call
Graduate, Sydney - 26 Jun 2024

Graduate, Sydney - 22 Mar 2022

Graduate, Sydney - 22 Mar 2022

Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Jan 2022
The panel included 2 bankers and was part role-play, part behavioural questions.
Graduate, Sydney - 17 Jan 2022
Teamwork scenarios, motivations, what makes me different etc.
Graduate, Perth - 17 Jan 2022
Previous job experiences, behavioral questions
Graduate, Brisbane - 17 Jan 2022
Typical questions focused on emotional intelligence and character rather than literal technical ability. e.g. Name a time where you had to overcome a hardship, a time you went out of your comfort zone, how do you adhere to ANZ's values.
Graduate, Brisbane - 17 Jan 2022
Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
Research company and values and tie what your values are into what the companies are and find examples of that.
Graduate, Melbourne - 03 Sep 2024
I would recommend that future candidates simply be their authentic selves, as ANZ values individuals for who they truly are.
Graduate, Melbourne - 16 Aug 2024
Be yourself, prepare some scenarios that show you at your best
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Aug 2024
Be open and honest about your experiences, and being genuine will be appreciated. It helps the interviewers to gain a better understanding of what you're wanting to get out of the intern/grad program, and will help determine whether or not you're a good fit for the company. To prepare I would recommend familiarising with the STAR method for answering behavioural questions, and learn more about the company's values and purpose. This will help link the behavioural question answers back to the company more specifically.
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Aug 2024
Be yourself, be authentic and be ready to learn. When they are looking at candidates, they are looking for individuals with a positive growth mindset that are willing to learn and adapt. This is a graduate program, and the concept is that you rotate through different aspects of the business. Bringing that growth mindset is so beneficial to allowing yourself to learn as much as possible about the business, what you like and don't like, what career you might want to pursue, and developing some great broad skills, networks and experiences.
Graduate, Melbourne - 28 Jun 2024
Be authentic and bring your uniqueness to the interview process. Ensure you prepare by reading about the organisation and have key events in your life you can use as examples.
Graduate, Perth - 27 Jun 2024
Just look up the ANZ values, and try to see if you align with any of them and can speak to it.
Graduate, Melbourne - 27 Jun 2024
Just be yourself and have a good set of examples to basic behavioural questions that you can lean into when answering questions. You don't need an extensive list of examples but identify a few key ones and try to get a range e.g. some from university, sport, other extra curricular activities.
Graduate, Melbourne - 26 Jun 2024
Make sure you know ANZ's ICARE values, prepare some general answers to potential behavioural questions and be yourself! Almost nobody at ANZ wears a tie, so it's probably not necessary to wear one in the interview. I didn't and still got the job!
Graduate, Sydney - 26 Jun 2024
No specific tips just for them to be honest about their interests.
Graduate, Melbourne - 26 Jun 2024
To be their genuine self and review ANZ's values
Graduate, Melbourne - 25 Mar 2022
Ensure you have specific examples from work/uni, research commonly asked behavioural questions and align your examples with those. Utilise the STAR response.
Graduate, Melbourne - 25 Mar 2022
Have good examples from your previous experiences ready so you can answer multiple questions about things like problem solving, teamwork, organisationm etc.
Graduate, Sydney - 22 Mar 2022
Learn as much as possible about your desired area of interest so you have solid reasoning behind your motivation to join ANZ
Graduate, Sydney - 22 Mar 2022
Understand the STAR method and have some examples of situations from work/personal life that were challenging, involved conflict, needed you to step up as a leader, and where you have had to collaborate with others.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Jan 2022
Research the program and what you like about it. Have plenty of examples of when you've achieved something in your professional experience or where you've overcome an issue/difficult situation in a professional environment (work and/or uni)
Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Jan 2022
To show your personality and also your enthusiasm for the role. Also to do a little bit of research into the different areas of Institutional to show you've given it a rough thought of the teams you might like/be suited to.
Graduate, Sydney - 17 Jan 2022
There is lots of information online about how to prepare for a graduate interview which I found very useful, just try to premeditate as many possible questions as you can.
Graduate, Perth - 17 Jan 2022
STAR answers to questions are essential
Graduate, Brisbane - 17 Jan 2022
Best thing to do is to think about scenarios in different aspects of life that may demonstrate your character and you ability to adapt, rather than focus on the ability to answer technical questions.
