7.8
7.8 rating for Training, based on 36 reviews
Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
Content is useful and required however needs to be consolidated and shorter. Not engaging and takes too much work time away from day to day responsibilities.

Most training is on the job with support from more experienced managers.

There is the formal mandatory learning training everyone has to do regarding risk, safety, wellbeing, etc. There are also some great formal training programs for better developing yourself as a leader, developing your data skills and so many more. I have picked up so many skills in this program, most notably a greater breadth of skills when it comes to working with data, data analysis and Microsoft Excel.

Often it seemed training came too late for when I needed it, and I found myself figuring things out as I went along.

I was provided all the training options. Such as, linkedin learning, pluralsight, oreilly, go1, and developer courses. One-on-one training was great, it allowed me the time to understand and apply what I learned, and also try new things!

Overall, I would say ANZ has been great at providing me with the opportunities to learn, both on the job and for general work best practises. There have been sessions scattered throughout the 18 month program that focus on goal setting, learning how to use different software and platform, building a personal brand, feedback, the list goes on. I have also felt very support in my specific role to learn on the job and try new software and coding languages.

Some bosses will teach you and others won't as you're just a graduate and will only be rotating through their area a short time, it's a luck of the draw
Graduate, Sydney - 26 Jun 2024
In some rotations people have been helpful and encouraging of helping others learn but in other situations this has not been the case.

The graduate program runs 'mini-bites' sessions every few weeks to teach skills like getting the most out of Microsoft Office and email etiquette. There is also mandatory learning assigned to your for continuous professional development requirements, and an internal education portal where you can learn just about anything you need. Informally, being invited to meetings to be a 'fly on the wall', then asking follow up questions was most common. Shadowing a colleague while they complete a task, then imitating them was also very useful for me.
