2022/2023 Assistant Technician

About this role

To provide drafting support to the group and be engaged in the preparation of 2D drafting & 3D Digital models and documentation for a wide variety of infrastructure & civil engineering, including but not limited to landmarks projects, as well as smaller commercial, education, leisure and residential projects.

Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of your work and for meeting set deadlines under close supervision.
• You will be required to work on defined tasks or projects under close supervision;
• You will be responsible for managing your own workload, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines;
• You will be responsible for providing information in an articulate and organised manner, following Arup’s established processes and procedures.
• Expected to enhance knowledge in a few numbers of drafting software (eg: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation).
• Assist in developing Civil & infrastructures drawings and documentation conforming to industry standards and practices
• Ensuring the work outputs meet the required standards
• Effective organization of information and documentation e.g., filing, QA, drawing register
• Attending agreed appropriate training to complete a recognized qualification
• Follow office protocol and be responsible for checking the quality, accuracy of your own work
• Expected to be able to work as a team member and to coordinate work with another team member.
• Development of skills through guidance and training from the senior
• Supporting the firm’s compliance in maintaining ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 requirement
• You will execute your responsibilities as outlined in the firm's Health & Safety, Environmental and Arup Management Systems

Requirements

• Minimum at least Certificate, Diploma in Civil and Structural Engineering.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills • Good visualization of actual site condition.
• Desire to excel and keep up to speed with the developments in prominent CAD or any other software used in Arup
• Digital has driven and engineering tech-savvy
• CAD software - Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, MiTS
• Microsoft Office - Outlook 2007 or similar (Intermediate), Word (Intermediate) - Excel (Basic-Intermediate) , PowerPoint (Intermediate)
• Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines – and Arup’s related procedures including OH&S
