Ko wai mātou | About us  &  Nōu te rourou - What's in it for you? 

During our 18-month programme in Project Management you will work on building your craft within your home team and home leader and under the guidance of a mentor being offered both stability and support.

  • You will also get the opportunity to work across the business gaining new skills and delivering real projects and change during three 6 monthly rotations.
  • Once the 18-month programme concludes you will be seamlessly transitioned into permanent positions within AT, from one of your rotations, continuing your journey in the AT whānau.

Te Whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity

  • Supporting project teams (both from within AT and external) for typical projects to enable the successful delivery of AT business objectives and optimise time, cost and quality project performance outcomes.
  • Supporting project teams in applying the project management principles, processes, procedures and reporting requirements outlined in the AT Project Management Framework and seeking advice on legislation, regulations, guidelines and standards to inform the Project Manager.
  • Providing input into internal and external reporting and requirements and promoting a culture of continuous improvement in relation to all required reporting.
  • Supporting complex tender processes, implementing procurement strategies and effective governance arrangements to monitor provider, supplier and contractor performance.
  • Communicating effectively with key project stakeholders to build trust and persuade and influence project outcomes, including presenting at public meetings.
  • Working collaboratively with the Project Owners and Customer Experience team to understand customer problems, provide the Project Managers with support to identify design solutions from a human centred perspective and advocate for a continuous improvement of the customer experience.
  • Engaging in the development of project management best-practice, including following initiatives which contribute towards organisational maturity.

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering (ideally civil) obtained from either University or Polytechnic within the last two years
  • Exceptional communication and relationship building skills.
  • A passion for agile ways of working, problem solving, and innovative solutions
  • Energetic, results driven and adaptable.
  • Driven and disciplined ready to give their career an amazing start.
