The agency's culture is very welcoming and looks to accommodate everyone's needs in order to get the best out of everyone. The staff are friendly, driven and more than willing to help whenever an issue or a problem arises.

I enjoy going to the office as the culture is inviting and fun to be apart of. My whole team is unfortunately remote but the working relationship is still strong to me and is a testament to the people working in this agency. I have also spent time with people outside of work too.

I have some negative impressions of some higher ups but this is largely based on hearsay, and while it comes from people I trust, I'm not going to repeat it here. From my personal experience, there is one executive in my team who acts like people at lower levels barely exist and will talk to my supervisor about work I have done when I am right there, barely acknowledging me, and talking over me when I try to say anything.
Apart from this, I think the overall culture is great. Teamwork is strong, people are nice and respectful. Inclusion is clearly really important and I appreciate that enormously. I feel more able to be myself at work than I have anywhere else.

The culture in my Branch is really good, but I'm not sure about the other branches. DTA is relatively flat in terms of hierarchy, so it's not uncommon for our SES B2s and B3s to say hello or have a quick chat with us on the floor. People are friendly but there is definite value in being in the Canberra office to establish working relationships across the agency.

People treat each other respectfully and there is no obvious social hierarchy.

The people are incredibly nice and constitutive of a positive workplace. I am able to work with people I both get along with really well that are also highly driven individuals.

Entry-level staff tend to be given administration task rather than project work

Very supportive organisation. It is, however, lagging behind private companies in terms of technology stacks and change management. As the average worker is older in this organisation, they are less likely to embrace change.

Have had the flexibility to work hours that suit me (later start/finish times). Have been able to interact directly with very senior staff (working for a smaller organisation can mean greater access to the higher levels).

Hierarchy exists but it is not something that reduces performance. Management is great and everything is so organized.

During work hours, the culture is great. We have a number of different backgrounds, which has proven to be very insightful. I am not aware of any communication outside of work hours.

The culture looks a bit mixed up but everybody seems to be on the same page.
