Tamanna Kibrea

I’m part of a new corporate activity at the ANAO called Innovation Hub. It has been recently established to help promote, develop, and implement innovations across the business.

6.30 AM

Early to rise! I want to go in early to work – so I can finish up early as well! The standard ANAO work hours are anytime between 7.00 am and 7.00 pm. Having this flexibility means I’m able to balance my life outside of work.

7.30 AM

Time to get some unfinished activities from yesterday done before my 9.30 am daily stand-up meeting.

9.30 AM

I’m currently doing a rotation in one of the other service groups in the office as my main audit is done with its interim phase. In this team, we catch up every morning to discuss our work progress. We flag if anyone has any questions/concerns/needs assistance with their work in this meeting. It’s also a good way to catch up with my colleagues in the morning.

10.30 AM

I’m craving a coffee! There are amazing coffee spots around the office – of which my favourite is Ritual. I invite my colleague James for the walk, and we chat about what we’ve been working on along the way.

10.45 AM

Focus-time! I have a couple of meetings in the afternoon, so I aim to get done several today’s to-dos before lunch. I also generally find it easier to concentrate in the morning, especially after a coffee, so I tend to work on activities that need the most brainpower before lunch.

12.30 PM

It’s lunchtime! Today I’m having lunch with my colleagues from Performance Audit Services Group.

1.30 PM

I’m part of a new corporate activity at the ANAO called Innovation Hub. It has been recently established to help promote, develop, and implement innovations across the business. Innovation in this hub could be through the adoption of new technology to efficiently undertake audit work, for example. Currently, I’m working with a team conducting the groundwork to establish this hub. We’ve developed a one-pager that outlines how the Hub will work and the potential it could bring to the business. In today’s meeting, we presented this one-pager to executives currently in charge of the Hub.

2.30 PM

I now have an hour-long training before I finish off for the day. Today’s topic is applying ethics in our audits. The Office heavily invests in training and development for staff and all staff are consistently encouraged to participate.

3:30 PM

Done with work for the day! Time to go home, do some cooking, clean up and get ready for Zumba tonight.

7.00 PM

Zumba time! My housemates, me and other friends attend Zumba classes occasionally. It’s a very simple way of getting some cardio in while having tons of fun with your friends!

8.30 PM

Got some bubble tea after Zumba – just what we needed!

9.00 PM

I like to get in a bit of reading before bed. Usually, because it’s just before I doze off, I opt for easy and digestible reads. Currently, I’m reading a memoir by Michelle Zauner called “Crying in H Mart”.

10.00 PM

Time to rest up and sleep so I’m all ready for the day tomorrow morning. Good night!
