The Business Services Outsourced Accounting team provide finance function services to a diverse and exciting client base. These services include bookkeeping, payroll, BAS preparation, forecasting, digital application advisory, API development, and management accounting services, and can include full Virtual CFO services. This service stack provides plenty of opportunities to grow and develop for a candidate that is committed to ongoing professional development.
What you’ll do:
As a Business Services – Outsourcing Graduate at BDO, you can expect to:
- Join a fast-growing service offering
- Assist with preparation of the outsourced finance function services for our clients, including but not limited to; bookkeeping, payroll, BAS preparation, and management accounts
- Assist senior members of the team with one-off finance transformation projects (e.g., MYOB to Xero transitions) and the design and implementation of the relevant apps within the app ecosystem
- You'll be working closely with clients from day one!

What you’ll offer:
- You will be in your final year, or have recently completed an Accounting undergraduate or postgraduate CA/CPA eligible degree.
- Your ability to commence full-time in July 2024 or January 2025

I am given a fair amount of responsibility, and plenty of support to learn.
Checking emails, liaising with clients to receive information on their R&D activities, writing/drafting activities according to AusIndustry guidelines/ITAA legislation. Calculating financial incentives and meeting with clients.
Admin tasks including note taking, setting up meeting and powerpoint/word templates, writing and research tasks

Pros
The culture in and out of the office is great.
My colleagues are always willing to get out of their way to help me.
Great opportunity to learn. People are nice and not getting annoyed when I ask questions.
Never any pressure to stay late.
The training is great, I have learned a lot in my time here.
Cons
Pay is relatively low, however this is industry-wide.
The graduate program doesn't rotate us through all the service lines.
Some managers are great and give constructive feedback. Others do not provide you with proper instructions.
Dishwashers are small... toilets are not flushed... desk are most of the time dirty.
Could include more women, however this is the industry.
