Beon, CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy is an Australian electricity distribution company that operates throughout western Victoria and the western suburbs of Melbourne. The company owns and maintains power lines, substations, and street lights and manages Victoria's largest electricity distribution network.

Your role

Their graduate program is a career-making opportunity that will connect you to industry leaders, expose you to innovative projects and means you are part of transformative industry change. This graduate program will connect you to industry leaders and expose you to innovative projects and transformative industry change. You will undertake rotations within your core discipline, along with developing wider business knowledge, to give you maximum exposure and a truly immersive experience. At the end of the program, you’ll have an opportunity to pursue a permanent role that best matches your skills and interests with business opportunities.

CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy are looking for the best and brightest minds across three disciplines within the corporate and customer space to join the team in February 2024. As a graduate, you’ll choose your own path, but you’ll be fully supported along the way to build your networks with mentoring, career coaching and a personalised learning plan. You’ll join a broad network of graduate peers, be afforded fast-tracked development opportunities, and build meaningful relationships to advance your career 

The intake will offer graduate placement and amazing rotation opportunities across the following business streams:

  • A business strategy, innovation and customer experience
  • Finance
  • Regulation

Training & development

Beon, CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy's training program includes opportunities tailored to their business and operations. It also includes structured courses for apprentices and trainees, graduate programs in engineering and information technology, leadership development, and developing new skills. All of their team members are encouraged to work with their direct manager to identify areas of interest.

About you

Each discipline presents unique requirements and opportunities: 

Business strategy, innovation and customer experience

  • Degree qualification in any field
  • Versatile, enthusiastic and bright-minded; not just academically
  • Able to expeditiously build relationships
  • Puts the customer at the centre to find solutions

Finance

  • Qualification in accounting or a similar discipline
  • Accounting concepts acquired from tertiary studies
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a range of key stakeholders 
  • Nimble with numbers, and enjoy storytelling through data analysis
  • The ability to take initiative and effectively problem solve, along with keen attention to detail

Regulation

  • Qualification in economics, finance, commerce, law or public policy
  • Persuasive and effective communicator 
  • Understanding of microeconomics and basic quantitative analysis
  • An interest in energy markets and public policy

To be eligible, you’ll need to:

  • Graduate from your Bachelor's or Masters's degree 
  • Have the right to work in Australia (please note for international applicants, you will need to secure/have secured a subclass 485 or 189 working visa)
  • Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or greater
