Beon, CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy is an Australian electricity distribution company that operates throughout western Victoria and the western suburbs of Melbourne. The company owns and maintains power lines, substations, and street lights and manages Victoria's largest electricity distribution network.

Your role

The Strategy and Customer team contribute to future-proofing the company and tackling complex business problems with a human-centred approach. Participate in the optimisation of business processes to increase efficiency and the delivery of programs of work that enhance experiences for their customers and meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.

You’ll have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of areas including:

  • Business strategy: Contribute to initiatives that improve business and customer outcomes
  • Digital innovation: Gain exposure to value assessments, technology analysis and experimentation
  • Customer experience and operations: Develop an understanding of the customer strategy customers’ experiences and interactions with them, and their customer experience improvement approach
  • Regulatory resets: Develop an understanding of the development and rigour required to prepare expenditure business cases to support a regulatory reset proposal
  • Pricing and revenue analysis: Understand the principles involved in setting network tariffs and monitoring their effectiveness on customer behaviour
  • Compliance and reporting: Learn the economic regulatory framework in which the businesses operate and reporting obligations to maintain their licences.
  • Health, Safety and Sustainability: Understand the “real world” application of policies, procedures, processes and legislation, governing Health and Safety and our ambitions to meet sustainability goals.

Training & development

The graduate program will connect you to industry leaders and expose you to innovative projects and transformative industry change. You will undertake rotations within your core discipline, along with developing wider business knowledge, to give you maximum exposure and a truly immersive experience. Examples of these rotations may include Corporate Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement, Field Operations, Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability and Human Resources.

About you

To be eligible, you’ll need to:

  • Degree qualification in any field
  • Graduate from your Bachelor's or Masters degree by the end of the 2024 academic year
  • Be prepared to commence full-time employment in February 2025 in Melbourne
  • Have the right to work in Australia (please note for international applicants, you will need to secure/have secured a subclass 485 or 189 working visa)
  • Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or greater
  • Be available to take part in an assessment day with us if invited scheduled for 17 April 2024.
  • Able to expeditiously build relationships
  • Puts the customer at the centre to find solutions
