Pursuing projects to reduce environmental impact, however is still quite cost driven due to current government policies.

I think there is more that can be done in this space. We do a lot of good things for sustainability but not on the scale of this company and not with the speed or commitment that I think is necessary. We have the capital to be making real change to the energy environment, yet our strongest initiatives feel like facades made to make us appear better than we are in this space. As the reality of need to develop more alternative energy sources is realized (and policy catches up) I think the internal drive will increase to a point where we could be good in this space, but currently our great efforts don't compare to the effort required.

Company is trying but sometimes feel like it's very slow to actually implement changes.

Ensuring up-to-standard on regulatory requirements. Purchasing of offsets, environmental clean-up efforts.

Specific waste bins are labelled and placed in all floors in the kitchens, printing opportunities are limited and are automatically set to black & white and double sided. There are options for people to ride bikes, catch public transport and walk to work. We are encouraged to come up with green initiatives for the company.

From what I know of, we do a lot of work in that space. We're got the biggest carbon sequestration facility in the southern hemisphere (at least, it might be the biggest on in the world at the moment), and incredibly tight quarantine regulations in place on our Gorgon site (which is on a nature reserve). While much of the work we do is mandated in some form, we also have a lot of R&D work going on about how we can reduce impacts of our business on the environment.

In some areas they have made great strides, in others it is not a high priority.

Our motto is higher returns, lower carbon. Just look up the CO2 project on Barrow Island, we have also just invested $300 million in a local renewable energy company

We are doing the world's largest carbon capture storage - it is an incredibly technically challenging project but it is critical to the future of the world as carbon offsets is not enough for us to reach net zero.

Focusing on research into new energies, however there is room for improvement here too.
