Working Hours at Cochlear

How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
My work hours are from 9-5 however I have had times where I've stayed back late due to needing to finish certain items or work or needing to help another team member. I do find it hard to balance my hours when I work late but that is something that I am still learning.

Cochlear has been very flexible in terms of working from home or the office, and no one is breathing down your neck checking your hours - I feel trusted to manage my hours and work myself.

Work arrangements are flexible and working from home has been allowed in every team I have rotated through in my graduate program. No set start or finish times, we just have to make sure we complete all our tasks and we are free to schedule that ourselves. However, sometimes workload can be unexpectedly high on certain days so have to spend a bit of extra time.

WFH is flexible across all the teams I have been in. No stress if I have to miss an hour for an appointment. Haven't been asked to work past 5.

Across the company there is a lot of flexibility with work from home. I appreciate the respect that is given to employees. The large amount of flexibility means that I am able to balance my work and my life, which I believe makes me more motivated and energised. The ability to work from home is a major factor for my satisfaction with Cochlear.

The flexibility at Cochlear is admirable. The expectation is to complete work as it's due, but with a general expectation of this being achievable in a 9-5 with a one hour lunch break. There are also no explicit expectations about working in office or from home. Many people work at home full-time and come in the office only when necessary, others come in to the office full-time and choose to come in early or stay late. Everyone has the option to do whatever works best for them.

Cochlear is very flexible when it comes to working in the office and at home. No problem with hybrid work which helps maintain a work-life balance.

Very flexible, but it goes both ways - when its busy the expectation is to pull long hours, but when its quiet you get a break

Personally, my work hours are very good. However, the more experienced you are the more hours you would complete.

Very reasonable 9-5 structure but overtime is expected occasionally.

As an intern in the People & Culture team, the business is incredibly flexible with hours. We work on a roster basis dictated by the intern team which means that you are able to work around other commitments. We are so able to work from home with attendance in the office as optional.

Generally work the normal 38 hours. Flexible as to exactly when those hours are worked e.g. you can come in early, leave early.
