The Department of Education offers varied work and a wide range of opportunities for different career pathways.

What's your role in the department?

I work in the International Partnership Branch in the Partnership Development Team. My team oversees Southeast Asia and Latin America. We help to advance Australia’s transnational education through bilateral relationships with priority countries.

This includes running programs on quality assurance, micro-credentials, and research collaboration. My role is to support the work of our overseas counsellors in Vietnam and Malaysia who also look after Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines. This includes briefings for high-level visits, program management, and lots of meetings.

What's been the highlight of your experience in the Graduate Program?

Some of my highlights include different teams allowing me to learn about their work and sit in on meetings, the support of my colleagues in feedback and learning about the work of the department, and the close support that the graduate network offers.

What tips do you have for future grads considering the education program?

The Department of Education offers varied work and a wide range of opportunities for different career pathways. Take every opportunity to grow, learn, and ask questions, and be open-minded to different areas of the department.
