Amy Luca

When I look back on engagements that I’ve been part of, the highlight has been working with brilliant people!

My name is Amy Luca and I am a Manager in the Consulting service line with a focus on Business Transformation. I have been with EY for four years, starting in the UK practice and recently transferring to Perth. My background is in Marketing and I started my career in various marketing roles. I made the transition to Consulting through a friend who was working at an EY member firm, based in London at the time.

Describe a typical day

There is no typical day in Consulting, which is why I enjoy it so much! Each day varies and brings new challenges. My day differs based on the status of my project, client needs, and wherever I might be needed to assist my colleagues.  My tasks for the day can range from facilitating workshops, managing client meetings, writing reports and presenting ideas to leadership teams, among others.

Describe the culture at EY

It is wonderfully surprising how everyone in EY is so approachable. It makes it easier to ask people for help or guidance and to learn more about their experiences. When I look back on engagements that I’ve been part of, the highlight has been working with brilliant people!  Working from home arrangement is in place so there is a fair amount of flexibility and respect for time for our external commitments.

What’s one highlight to date?

The friends I’ve made along the way! I’ve moved back to Perth after three years in the London practice, but I’ve made lifelong friends there that I know I’ll always stay in touch with.  We will visit each other in our respective countries in the future and in the years to come for sure. The bond that you get with the people you work with on a project is so strong that you continue to share a connection with them throughout your life.
