About the Role
As a Graduate Engineer, you will have to implement and service standard engineering solutions within the PMC portfolio, to successful completion and within budgeted time and cost constraints. Travel is required in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales technical support for PMC products, including presentations, onsite technical support and site surveys to establish the viability of using PMC products
- Management of customer interface and project commercials for PMC projects and service
- Factory commissioning of PMC products and systems.
- On-site, Remote & Telephonic within schedule and to end users' specifications, of PMC products and systems:
- PMC Tank Gauging products including hardware and software and Fluid Loading Blending and Injection products
- Workshop repair and service of PMC products
- Produce technical documents on the use of PMC systems
- Ensure required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, and documentation) are in place before commencing work.
- Produce part or part(s)/Total of conceptual, functional detailed design specifications.
- Executes Documentation work assignments to appropriate standards and quality systems.
- Share technical knowledge with the project team, supervisor, own discipline and other engineering disciplines
- Report progress and technical problems to the project and engineering supervisor.
- Proactively identify potential quality and efficiency improvements within assigned work.
- Develop and maintain engineering proficiency in the following areas of delivery for both commissioning and onsite service - PMC Products
- To attend training on SOM and ensure a safe workplace. Delivery of services into our installed customer base. Maximise any business opportunities for additional services or project work on the existing site
- Participate in the Technical sessions program as a means to share key learnings on matters useful to the wider HPS team
Key Experience & Capabilities:
- Relevant Undergraduate degree – (Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical) completed in the 2 years preceding the start date for the Graduate role, February 2023
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Think on your feet
- Willingness to proactively learn and grow technical and professional expertise in a variety of disciplines.

In general Honeywell takes care to ease you into your career and work with little stress, this can be a double-edged sword as confident and eager graduates may find Handover of responsibility can be slow. 4 months into the program I have completed a lot of training with more still to go which at times can make you feel like you're still at uni. But I have been shadowing & helping with the fulfilment of a massive project, with the prospect of much more to come.
Currently my day-to-day responsibilities evolve around upskilling myself my attending training's to better understand the application/services we provide our customers. I also work on conducting system analyses of site systems and creating estimates for software upgrades to provide to respective account managers. Some of my key day-to-day responsibilities as I learn all the technical aspects of my role will be to perform system upgrades at various sites to provide customers with Honeywell's latest HBS applications and services, and resolve technical issues that arise with applications.

Given the size of the company, there seems to be an opportunity for a lot of career progression/development, and lateral and vertical movements within the company seem possible. 2. Additionally, the team that I work with currently is highly supportive and the managers value my development.

Cons
There are lots of procedures, but this is common to most big companies.
Steep learning curve if you haven't been exposed to the type of work but the Honeywell staff/team is super supportive.
I was hoping for a high-rise office in the middle of the city.
While Honeywell is an amasing place to work, the most challenging aspect can be the high expectations and fast-paced nature of the projects. Managing multiple responsibilities and ensuring top-quality results can be demanding, especially when juggling tight deadlines. However, this challenge is also an opportunity for growth, pushing me to develop better time management and problem-solving skills. The supportive team and access to resources help mitigate these challenges, turning them into valuable learning experiences.
The industry is confusing.
