We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Auckland Civil & Aviation team in 2022. You'll work alongside our Senior Engineers on a range of complex projects including rail upgrades of the Auckland train system between Wiri and Quay Park, safety upgrades of SH1 between Whangerai and Port Marsden and safety upgrades of Midland Highway in Tasmania. You’ll gain exposure to various stages of design work in transport projects, from feasibility and concept through to detailed design and construction phase services. Our Civil Engineers gain experience in road, rail and civil design work, drafting, supporting the coordination of civil designs within our disciplines and across other project disciplines.

Ideally, by January 2022 you’ll hold a university degree in Civil Engineering. This is a unique role that requires applicants hold New Zealand / Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency. The role is aligned with expectations with a variety of projects, teams, clients, and levels of detail.
Gets to design stuff from the start. If you like project management-type of work -go for it. Personally, I prefer design, so I let my team leader know that. Whenever something interesting comes up, he lets me know and checks if I might be interested in being involved.
My personal responsibilities are slightly less technical than I would like but I am still involved with very interesting work

Growth prospects, I am consistently guided on the best ways to grow and develop in my role. I have involvement in a variety of projects of different sizes with great autonomy, allowing me to learn quickly.
IT support is slow
As a smaller office in a large company, it often feels like we are left out from the rest of the company and that there can be a disconnect at times.
Hot desking - would be nice to have designated areas for the teams (as in the 10 desks here are all for X team)
Unpredictability of hours during projects however this is the nature of consulting.
