8.5 rating for Culture, based on 27 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
People themselves are very lovely, there is not a huge post-work culture but that is because everything is very expensive.

Our office is quite small (regional Victoria )so you gat the felling of working with a small company but with opportunities of a international organization, There is a strong connection and support for graduates and enarly carreer professionals

I believe we have an amazing company culture; the company is extremely inclusive. Coming from an ethnically diverse background, my differences are celebrated and respected always. As a previous grad I was also fortunate enough to be part of the fun and collaborative environment created for Jacobs Graduates through social and personal development events.

The culture within Jacobs is very inclusive. They organise regular catch-ups and check-in on staff health quite frequently.

Hours are long, ranging from 40-45 hours a week with no site works. Site works push this into 50 to 60 hours a week. Trialing a 4-day workweek would be a great trial.

I can't comment for the entire company because I have heard different things from different teams but my team really prioritises healthy habits at work. We socialise online a lot but not many come into the office, seniors really respect and appreciate juniors

Supportive culture, accessible team leaders. Strong bias towards working from home within our team, so not a lot of in-office socialising but we make it work.

The culture is an area that is embedded from our highest levels of executive leadership right down to our smaller teams. Inclusivity and being able to be yourself at work are reinforced throughout the company and it goes far beyond just being a tick-box exercise. You really feel that these notions are meant and in turn, it has developed an amazing inclusive culture across the company. There is lots of collaboration and transparent leadership with our leaders being very approachable regardless of seniority. We have a lot of inter company networks such as social committees, careers networks, and LGBTQI+ committees just to name a few and they are always running various events that are open to any employee.

Very much a team based work environment. Some social activities. Very much an American work culture.

Great work-life balance, caring culture and safety first beyond office hours.
Graduate, Melbourne - 01 Mar 2018
very easy to work with colleagues across the performance unit, section leaders/DOs not easily accessible, generally cooperation and teamwork comes fairly easily and naturally, socialising amongst colleagues is also great, although would be good to have more opportunities to socialise with other colleagues in other PUs

Generally good, cliques exist but overall it's very social.

Plenty of events for networking and meeting other people in similar positions within the company

Management from the Lowest to the highest level is actually actively supporting company's culture / values. This significantly minimises discrimination, bullying and any other workplace related issues and maximises people's performances. Within the office, supporting culture is enforced and assisting others can always be arranged. As a result, there are no work that is too hard since even there are times where senior level engineers can help us as well. Outside the office hour, however, socialising does not really happen. This is due to different working hours, site locations, post work obligation etc. However, there are always regular per month social gathering within the company

Culture in low to senior range of staff is good. Team currently is very young and inexperienced, so we work closely to improve each other's weaknesses. Very open team communication-wise.

Safety BeyondZero is a value that everyone embraced not only in the office, but also at home or even on site.
