Our External Audit teams provide assurance on the financial reporting and operations of our clients' businesses. Working with some of Australia’s largest organisations across a range of industries, our team builds trust in financial reporting, solves complex business issues and provides confidence in big decisions.
About the Opportunity
In the External Audit teams, you’ll find yourself in a culture that values humility, courage and realism. Through External Audit, you’ll also have the opportunity to gain diverse experience across multiple industries and specialist capabilities such as ESG, CFO Advisory, Accounting Consulting Services, Risk & Regulation or even take part in our world class Digital Accelerator training program. You’ll work with top tier clients across Banking & Insurance, Retail, Healthcare, Real Estate & Investments, Construction, Transport & Logistics and more.

As a graduate in External Audit, the top three skills you’ll need to hit the ground running are:
Advanced spreadsheet skills and/or experience using digital technologies (coding, data automation, analysis and visualisation etc)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong understanding of accounting, audit and/or financial statements
Anticipated start date is from December 2024 to June 2025. Start dates vary across locations - if you can start earlier, just let us know.

Varies from project to project. On my current project this involves creating business and technical requirements, hosting standups, communicating progress to the client, managing the sprint cadence (creating the meetings on outlook), liaising with the QA on test estimates , providing testing assistance when needed and explaining the business requirements to the developers to get the solution design created.
Assisting in conducting internal audits and compliance reviews.
Mainly involved in investment research and operations for providing clients with investment advice.

The office itself is great, especially the access to the cafe where free warm drinks are available before 12. The company has a flexible 'dress for your day' dress code, so people can often come in relaxing clothing, although many still prefer business wear

The working hours can be quite demanding
I think everyone, not just PwC, would like to be paid more for what they do and when compared with other graduate roles we are paid to a similar standard.
Time in grade is the main driver for promotion.
The pressure at times to meet deadlines that may not necessarily be that realistic and the billable hour demands.
There should be more formal training programs for technical skills here.
