Highly committed. i have attended several courses in my time with a heavy focus on this during onboarding
Graduate, Perth - 04 Sep 2024
There is a very large push to hire more women into operational and leadership roles. There is an 18 parental leave policy.
Graduate, Perth - 28 Aug 2024
Our business is pushing to have a more diverse workforce and I believe that can be seen through our graduate intake. We have a diverse range of ages, ethnicities, neurodiversities and sexualities.
Graduate, Perth - 23 Aug 2024
Rio is determined to increase their diversity portfolio.
I don't believe I can comment as I don't fit into diversity categories.
Graduate, Perth - 23 Aug 2024
One of the most diverse workplaces that I have worked at.
Graduate - 14 Dec 2021
We have a good force, but it seems forceful when they do a 50/50 intake or when people on site assume you got the job because you are a female. NEED TO CHANGE THIS IMAGE.
Graduate, Perth - 13 Dec 2021
Large range of people, low-ish turnover
Graduate, Perth - 10 Dec 2021
are open to all types and actively trying to improve and listen to all to better the business for all
Graduate, Port Hedland and Dampier - 09 Dec 2021
Definitely lots of diversity and lately there's been a huge emphasis on everyday respect to everyone.
Graduate, Perth - 09 Dec 2021
I think my team could hire more females, at the moment our team is dominated by men with only 4 females so that change would be great. It is however, very diverse in terms on ethnic minorities.
Graduate, Weipa - 09 Dec 2021
Graduate intake is very diverse, however this is generally not well reflected in leadership positions (onsite/ExCo, may be different in the office based roles). Few women, LGBTQ people, or people from minorities in leadership roles at the sites I've been at. More needs to be done to coach people of different backgrounds into leadership positions & encourage different styles of leadership.
Graduate, FIFO from Perth - 09 Dec 2021
As an indigenous employee, needs to be a focus on getting mob apt in the mining core technical roles, and not relying on unskilled labour or non-core mining roles to meet the 'quota'.
Graduate, Perth - 09 Dec 2021
Being a female on a mine site is still tough, you still have other employees undermine your role on site. The culture still on FIFO sites are very much male dominated and is not welcoming for a new female to the industry. Makes you want to work harder to prove your worth when that shouldn't be the case. It can be isolating at times. The company still has a long way to go interims of diversity and supporting other communities on site.
Graduate, Perth - 09 Dec 2021
Diversity is a key value in this company, some people say that they overlook qualified or the most suited candidate to fulfil quotas (make what you will out of that).
Graduate - 09 Dec 2021
Pretty good i see everyone from all walks of life around work. mainly in the office environments
Graduate, Northern Territory - 09 Dec 2021
Good, the company takes care of their people offering good welfare and support people from different diversity backgrounds (on site help and offsite help)
Graduate, Gladstone Central - 09 Dec 2021
High respect to women, wide range of workforce recruited
Graduate, FIFO Perth - 30 Nov 2018
White ribbon approved, large scale initiatives for local recruitment, mental health, men's health, women's health, LGBT. Good policies regarding maternity and paternity leave
Graduate, Perth - 28 Nov 2018
Rio is very passionate about maintaining a very wide diversity. I work with a well balanced mix of females to males. Ethnical/Cultural diversity is also a key player. Male parents are not criticised for taking parental leave when their partner has a child.
Graduate, Nhulunbuy NT - 28 Nov 2018
They try very hard to be inclusive with tragets and diversity reviews. Perhaps slightly unfair for candiates not of a minority.
Graduate, Perth/ Pilbara - 27 Nov 2018
