What's your job about?
In the morning, I do facility check if there's anything left in the storage unit or if some of the company equipment’s are not working well such as damaged lights, orbits fan and etc.
I also clean the hallway and office area after facility check so that it looks presentable and neat. I also do follow-up potential customers through a phone call or by sending them an email.
What's your background?
I grew up in Manila. I was 2nd-year high school when we transfer to Cavite. My mother is an OFW and I grew in a broken family. I also have a stepfather but we are not on good terms. My mother worked abroad to support our family so my siblings and I were left on my stepfather.
As my stepfather and I wasn't on good terms, I decided to go to my Tita's house. When my mother came back to the Philippines, I decided to come with her. I graduated as an ICT and got a job. When I was young, I thought that it is easy to find a job. I previously worked in a factory and every morning, my stepfather allows me to join a ride with him going to work. He sees how hard my job is and I'm shocked when he said that if I'm having a hard time doing my job or if my job consumes me, I can resign and find another job that suits me. It is a simple word but hearing those words from him, I felt that he sincerely care for me. And that's the first time he talked to me that way. Months after, my stepfather died.
I helped my mother financially to support my siblings. Things flashback and it reminds me of the wrong decisions I made. Work really is not easy to get. It is not a game that if you don't want, you give up. You need more patience and be more responsible. I'm thankful that I have a mother and a girlfriend, who is also there for me through ups and downs. Time passed and I got work in Mineski Infinity as a Customer Associate. I worked in Mineski Infinity for one year. A year after, there's a problem. Covid happened. Lots of companies suffered and still suffering and this includes Mineski Infinity. The management decided to lay off some employees and I was one of them. Ron Eris, who is my friend from Mineski, referred me to StorageMart. I am now working in this company for five months.
Could someone with a different background do your job?
Any person can do my job. You don't need to be smart at work. You just need to be focused, work hard, be patient and be responsible. Every person has a space to improve
What's the coolest thing about your job?
In the Philippines, Self Storage is not a common industry when I heard about StorageMart I thought it was just like a grocery store then I search about it and I learned that it’s a leasing company
What are the limitations of your job?
I have plenty of responsibility because I am giving customer assistance and also I have to keep the facility presentable. The limitation on my job is that as a Facility Staff - there are instances where I have to seek assistance and supervision from my manager

Think of whatever decision you will make. Don't listen to others for what they say against you. If you fail, let this serve as a learning experience and do your best for this not to happen again
