Vacation Students - Science, Health Science (Oct 2024)

Your role

Join the undergraduate Vacation Program to gain hands-on industry experience in Unitywater's dynamic and innovative organisation. These paid undergraduate positions are offered once a year for a 12-week placement over the summer holiday period (Nov 2024 – Feb 2025), working 4 days per week. 

Opportunity 1: Science Laboratory

• Gain experience in their NATA-accredited lab.
• Use the latest technologies in analytical chemistry and advanced analytical instruments like ICP-MS, GC-ECD, FIA, IC, and TOC.
• Sample receipt, storage, analytical testing and reporting.

Opportunity 2: Occupational Health and Safety

• Gain experience across their Fitness for Work and Health Monitoring Frameworks and site-based occupational hygiene monitoring.
• Real-world, site-based application.

About you

Science Laboratory Qualification:

• Science students in their 2nd to 4th year

Occupational Health and Safety Qualification:

• Occupational Health/Hygiene, Health Sciences, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Exercise Science/Physiology students.

Career progression

Some of the students who completed the Vacation Program were offered ongoing casual work and others moved straight into graduate positions in their Graduate Development Program. After the two years spent in the Graduate position, they offer permanent employment within the company.
