Being involved in important trade agreements and seeing the nuances of different countries engaging together and working towards the same goal is really special and exciting, and not something you will get to experience in all jobs.

Samantha studied Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) / Bachelor of Science at the Australian National University and is now a Senior Weapon Systems Technical Officer at the Department of Defence.

I loved Maths and Physics, however, the main appeal of engineering to me was the chance to positively impact the community.

I decided to work for the NSW Government as I knew I would perform best if I was passionate about my work and confident that it would have a positive impact on the people of NSW and the environment.

For me, the coolest aspect of my job is knowing that the work I do has contributed to something that essentially benefits all Australians.

I enjoy working on tasks that have a direct impact on ASIO and ASIO’s ability to carry out its functions.
