The key to my current role as demand planner is a combination of hard work, dynamic decision making, and communication. These skills, although natural to some, can be learnt and I would encourage anyone to give it a go.
My main project over the course of my vacation program included creating a commercial induction for the departments onsite, as well as helping with the changeover of accounts payable (AP) systems.
The coolest thing about my job is getting to work with many stakeholders across such a span of the mine lifecycle. We are involved in exploration planning, long and short-term mine planning, operations, hazard management and mine closure.
I love working with data. I spend a lot of time on Excel and our trending software looking for patterns and trying to understand what’s happening in the process.
Every day I feel satisfied that I am contributing to bringing about a positive change for the world within the clean energy space and within the impactful mining industry.
