Craft your application

Before applications open you can complete our Expression of Interest on the E&P website or sign up to Propsle’s alert system, so you will be notified as soon as applications open.

The first step for our Intern application process is filling out an online application. This can be done via our website, within the Careers section.

When filling out the online application ensure that you attach all the relevant documentation including your resume, cover letter, and academic transcript. 

In your resume, don’t forget to highlight your extracurricular activities. Whether it be volunteering, sports, or hobbies, we want to hear about them. We value well-rounded individuals who excel beyond their academic pursuits.

Our recruitment process

Once applications have closed, your application will be reviewed, and we will be in touch with you. If you have been successful in the application stage, you will be invited to attend one of our Assessment Centre Days.

Following the Assessment Centre, candidates that are shortlisted will be set up with a series of assessments using our psychometric testing platform. This includes a personality questionnaire to gain a better understanding of your work-style preferences, as well as an ability assessment which aims to evaluate your problem solving, numerical and reasoning skills. 

For some intern roles, we will also book in a second interview. This gives us a chance to review your assessment results which will direct our next conversations. We aim to explore how your skills can contribute to our organisation’s growth and assess your compatibility with our company culture. Most importantly, you’ll be able to meet more of the team and ask us any further questions you may have to ensure we’re the right fit for you too.

Assessment Centre tips

If you are invited to attend our Assessment Centre, you will get to undertake a few different activities which include an interview. Here are some tips to help you prepare:

• Practice Common Interview Questions:  Prepare responses to common interview questions such as "Tell me about yourself," "Why are you interested in this internship?" and "What are your strengths and weaknesses?" Practice articulating your answers clearly and concisely.
• Review Your Resume: Be ready to discuss the experiences, skills, and achievements listed on your resume. Consider how each relates to the internship opportunity and be prepared to provide specific examples.
• Prepare Questions: Prepare questions to ask the interviewers about the company culture, team dynamics, projects, or any other relevant aspect of the internship. 
• Be Authentic: Be yourself during the Assessment Centre. There can be a lot of nerves on the day, but this is your opportunity to show us who you are so let your personality and enthusiasm shine through.
