The DISER Story

Our ideas and policy leadership shape the Australian economy to drive growth and productivity for globally competitive industries.

As department we work in collaboration with our portfolio agencies which include The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), The National Measurement Institute (NMI) and the Australian Space Agency.

We accept all disciplines of study, and we have numerous opportunities available to use your skills, knowledge and experience.

Along with a Generalist Stream, we also offer a Professional Services Stream for people with qualifications in Human Resources, STEM, ICT, Finance, Law and Communications/Marketing.

We are committed to inclusion across age, gender, race, religion, identity, sexual orientation, physical and mental ability, ethnicity, perspective and experience. Diversity and Inclusion supports the department to achieve its objectives and realise its vision by fostering creativity, innovation and problem solving abilities and we recognise that the diversity of our people is one of our greatest strengths.

We have a range of inclusion initiatives including staff networks (Pride, Women's, Disability and Wellness, Indigenous Employee, Culturally & Linguistically Diverse, Flexible Working), celebrations for diversity events and activities and investing in our managers capability and confidence, all of which contribute to a great workplace culture.
