Disability Support at Gilbert + Tobin

G+T’s ambition is to be a place where we can say proudly that “all of what we do and say, and how we do it, is automatically and naturally inclusive of disability”.

  • One of G+T’s partners, Darren Fittler, is blind and is a passionate advocate for disability rights and inclusion. Darren leads the accessibility stream of our Diversity Council, committed to ensuring that accessibility is considered in all firm initiatives.
  • We participate in Diversity Council of Australia events to raise awareness, such as Creating Accessible and Inclusive Workplaces, which Darren moderated.
  • Darren also hosted a firm wide lunch for the International Day of People with a Disability, where all employees had the opportunity to understand more about inclusion and accessibility.  
  • Engagement: he provided input into our recent Culture + Engagement Survey, both in designing questions around our performance on accessibility and in ensuring the platform was accessible. Accessibility is considered in the design of all digital platforms.
  • External advocacy: Darren has also provided disability inclusion presentations and information to key clients.
