Disability Support at Hydro Tasmania

In 2020 we launched our Disability Inclusion Action Plan – a public acknowledgement of our ambition to become a more inclusive workplace, and an important first step in achieving better outcomes for people with disabilities.

The four key goals, as stated in the plan, are:

  • create more opportunities for people with disability to engage with us
  • increase employment opportunities for people with disability
  • change attitudes towards people with disability
  • create more inclusive systems and processes.

We worked with Get Skilled Access, a leading disability and accessibility consultancy, to ensure the plan wasn’t full of vague promises and ambiguous language. Instead, we set out tangible measures and timelines for action so we can be held accountable if we fall short.
