Put your passion into renewable energy!

We’re shaping solutions to help Australia embrace clean, renewable energy. Apply your theory to real-world challenges, supported by our teams and learning from leading experts.

We support applications from all members of our community for equitable access to our employment opportunities. This includes discussing workplace flexibility in all our vacancies, to ensure we can attract the best candidates and accommodate individual needs, differences, disabilities and working arrangements, even in ways we may not have thought of. Our merit-based recruitment practices are founded on building diversity by fostering an inclusive, flexible, and equitable workplace.

Our program begins in February each year, initially based in Hobart, Tasmania. You’ll rotate into different teams and functions, where you can build on your capabilities and determine a career that’s right for you.

We know it’s important to love what you do every day. If you’re passionate about the planet and clean energy, come and join us as we take on what’s next.

To find out more about our graduate streams for 2024, check out www.hydro.com.au/graduates

What you’ll do:

Our Business Analyst stream is ideal for graduates seeking varied experience across business management and operations.

You will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of teams across the Hydro Tasmania business, largely driven by your background. Teams you may experience include: people & culture (HR), marketing, communications & engagement, strategic policy, asset strategy and risk, strategy, environment, governance/legal and more! You’ll build a wide range of skills that will set you up for success in your chosen field, and open up possibilities you may not have known existed.

  • Rotate through various teams across Hydro Tasmania, Momentum Energy (our retail business!) and Entura (our consulting business!)
  • Depending on your role, you may work at sites across Tasmania, including on site at our hydropower stations, dams and lakes
  • Be part of big renewable infrastructure projects like Battery of the Nation
  • Take part in professional development and networking with your fellow graduates and senior colleagues.

What you’ll bring:

  • A recent (graduated within the last 2 years) or upcoming degree in arts, business, economics, commerce, marketing and communications, legal and more.
  • Passion, ambition and a commitment to driving positive change
  • Willingness to learn and build effective communication and relationships inside the business

What you’ll get back:

  • Training budgets to put towards the technical skills you want to learn
  • Perks like discounted electricity bills and health insurance
  • Flexible work environments that best suits you.

So – how do I apply?

Please attach your resume and cover letter outlining your skills and the experience you will bring, including a copy of your recent university transcript. You will be asked to answer the following questions as part of your application form;

  • Why do you want to work for Hydro Tasmania?
  • What is your greatest achievement that involved working collaboratively with others?
  • Share what you know about the current energy transformation happening in Australia
