About the role:

As a Graduate Agronomist at our Warren branch, you will be provided with a mentor, on the job training, personal and professional development opportunities, and the chance to join a cohort of numerous other Nutrien Graduates at fun workshops across Australia. Reporting into the Branch Manager, you will learn how to consult and offer expert agronomic knowledge to Warren’s key customer base positioning you as the go-to subject matter expert in the region for irrigation and broadacre cropping. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support from our incredible Warren team to hone your technical skills with the support of other agronomists in the region.
  • Learn how to provide agronomic and technical support to producers in the region together with product sales both in-store and on farm
  • Building close and trusted relationships with growers and developing a strong understanding of their business goals
  • Share technical and market information with growers to enable them to improve the performance and sustainability of their farming enterprises.

What we’ll love about you:

To be successful you will be a recent graduate in Ag Science or similar. In addition, you will also bring with you:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Some technical field experience is a bonus
  • A passion for local farming communities and agribusiness 
  • Interest in a long-term career in agronomy
  • A tertiary qualification in agricultural science or a related field and a current driver’s license is essential
  • You will have a can-do attitude and an appetite to learn.

Changes daily, but goes from planning with growers their plans for the year and throughout the year involved in decision making and data gathering to make the best recommendations for future seasons and/or current decisions

Cons

    • Being such a big company, the communication can sometimes not be the greatest, but most of the time it is good.

    • The pay is monthly which can take time to get used to.

    • Sometimes the expectations are unclear.

    • A large company with multiple business units that can internally compete.
