About the role:

In this role, we will provide the skills and training you need to be a future leader in the agriculture industry. For the successful candidate, you will join a cohort of other ambitious Graduates and learn directly from AgriWest & Nutrien Ag Solutions leaders, join a global community of more than 23,000 employees, and travel to various regional locations to see exactly how our products and services work. 

 

A typical day may look like:

  • On the job training to hone your technical skills with the support of other agronomists in the region
  • Provide agronomic and technical support to clients and producers in the region together with product sales both in store and on farm
  • Development of solid and long-term client relationships
  • Share technical and market information to enable clients to improve the performance and sustainability of their farming enterprises
  • Maintain relationships with existing customers whilst targeting new clients through the provision of superior sales and agronomic input
  • Run and coordinate field days and farmer meetings.

 

You will gain exposure to an agriculture area primarily focused on mixed enterprise and dryland cropping. Crops include wheat, barley, oats, canola, winter pulses, various pastures and grain sorghum. You will join a team of 7 branch staff and work closely with 3 other agronomists across Parkes and Forbes to leverage client base and product knowledge.

 

About You:

  • To be successful you will be a recent graduate in Ag Science or similar.
  • Your sound customer service, organisational, administrative, and computing skills will be complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Some technical field experience is ideal.
  • You will have a passion for local farming communities and agribusiness with demonstrated skills in customer service.
  • A tertiary qualification in agricultural science or a related field and a current driver’s license is essential.
