We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for a full-time permanent Graduate Agronomy & Sales Support to join our Ingham branch to help drive in-store sales of our agricultural merchandise products and offer expert product knowledge to our broad client base in Ingham. 

This is a great opportunity for someone who has studied an ag-related degree and is looking to kick start their career within the industry. 

A typical day may look like:

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will provide agronomic, technical, and whole farm management advice to our broad client base. Our customer base is broad and can include local farmers, primary producers and trade customers and the focus of your role is to create sales opportunities aimed at expanding the customer base of the branch through strong customer service and advice. In addition, you will:

  • Provide sound sales advice to clients and assist them in improving their efficiency, productivity, and general farming practices
  • Establish and maintain communication with farmers, managers, and key suppliers in line with strategic objectives
  • Embrace industry initiatives to ensure we develop strategies in line with market trends and promote the agricultural industry in conjunction with key industry partners
  • Identify and research new cropping opportunities that will develop the cropping, fertiliser, and irrigation markets within the cropping industry
  • Assist the Branch Manager with sales support
  • Carry out soil sampling, tissue testing, feed testing, and regular crop monitoring programs in order to provide a complete agronomic service to growers
  • Perform general administrative tasks including stock control, ordering, receipting, and dispatching of goods
  • Assist customers with pricing and product queries 
  • Maintain safety processes
  • Assist with merchandise campaign material 

What we’ll love about you:

To be successful in this role you will have previous experience in a team support role in a busy environment.  You’ll have a passion for Australian farming and agriculture, ideally with knowledge of animal health and rural merchandise. In addition, you will demonstrate:

  • A Bachelor of Ag Science or a related field is ideal
  • Experience working within a sales environment 
  • Effective verbal communications skills to build solid long-term customer relationships
  • A proactive approach to work and practical organisation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Problem-solving skills and empathy to resolve customer issues promptly
  • Ability to identify ways to improve internal sales processes 
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • A current driver’s license and forklift ticket are essential.
