We are currently offering a great opportunity for a Graduate Agronomist to join our team. Reporting to the Branch Manager the focus of your role will be to consult and offer expert product knowledge to our client base who grow both summer & winter crops around Rockhampton. 

About the opportunity:

You will be provided with the support to hone your technical skills with the support of other agronomists in the region. You will provide agronomic and technical support to clients and producers in the region together with product sales both in store and on farm.  Building solid and long-term client relationships, you will develop a strong understanding of the clients’ business goals and share technical and market information to enable clients to improve the performance and sustainability of their farming enterprises. You will maintain relationships with existing customers whilst targeting new clients through the provision of superior sales and agronomic input. Keeping relevant with latest plant production practices together with running and coordinating field days and farmer meetings will position you as the go-to subject matter expert in the region for all broadacre crops and other advice. 

You will gain exposure to an agriculture area where a diverse range of broadacre crops are grown. Crops include Wheat, Barley, Chickpeas, Sorghum, Mung beans, and Corn to name a few. You will work closely with other Agronomists in the region to leverage client base and product knowledge.

About You:

• To be successful you will be a recent graduate in Ag Science or similar. 
• Your sound customer service, organisational, administrative, and computing skills will be complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• You will have a passion for local farming communities and agribusiness with demonstrated skills in customer service.
• Knowledge of summer & winter crop agronomy is an advantage.
• Interest or knowledge in animal nutrition is an advantage but not essential.
• A tertiary qualification in agricultural science or a related field and a current driver’s license is essential. 
• You will have a can-do-attitude and an appetite to learn.
