Pros & Cons
Russell Kennedy has an excellent work-life balance as well as a down to earth and friendly culture.
I work at a firm that specialises in the area in which I'm most interested. For me, this was always a major drawcard. Additionally, my practice group fosters a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture whereby senior practitioners take a hands-on approach to the personal and professional development of juniors. This, too, is a key benefit of working at the firm.
People and opportunities, hours are quite good for a law firm
People, culture, opportunity to engage in meaningful & challenging work
I can't identify any "worst thing" about working at this firm. However, any candidate should think carefully about the area(s) of law to which they'd like to be exposed during their clerkship, graduate or junior years. If banking and finance, for example, is what you're after - this may not be the place for you.
Everyone is nice and caring. People are light hearted and enjoy getting to know one another. Everyone is very hard working but respectful of others' work life balance.
Researching & preparing advices on complex administrative law matters, statutory interpretation, policy work, development of best practice frameworks & reviews of organisation's policies against human rights standards.
Good facilities, great location opposite Flagstaff gardens, & accepting dress code - many people elect to wear neat casual & female partners model gender-positive culture through minimal make-up & sensible, flat footwear.
I recommend they be themselves and try not to put on a show. Ask the panel as many questions to find out more about the firm, the culture and the people
