The SEEK story

Founded in Melbourne, Australia in 1997, SEEK is a market leader in online employment marketplaces operating across the Asia Pacific and Latin America. With the idea to make it easier and quicker for candidates and hirers to connect by moving print newspaper job ads online, www.seek.com.au was officially launched in 1998.

Since then, SEEK has evolved into a leading technology company, investing in artificial intelligence and technology to create innovative products which connect candidates with job opportunities and help hirers find candidates in the most efficient way possible.

From its origins in Australia, SEEK has expanded globally and now has a strong presence across the APAC region. SEEK Asia is a leading provider of online employment marketplaces operating in six countries throughout South-East Asia through the JobStreet and JobsDB brands. SEEK also has operations across New Zealand, and Latin America and holds minority investments in China (Zhaopin) and Korea (JobKorea).

SEEK also operates a number of other businesses including SEEK Learning, which helps connect people with quality education opportunities, SEEK Business, where businesses and franchises can be sold, and SEEK Volunteer, Australia’s largest single source of volunteer opportunities.

Today SEEK is one of Australia’s Top 50* listed companies, employing more than 3,000 people across the globe. With a clear purpose of helping people live more fulfilling and productive working lives and helping organisations succeed, SEEK has exposure to 900 million people, 50 million candidate relationships and 300,000 hirer relationships.

Culture & vibe

Passion and teamwork are key to their success. They challenge the status quo and are focused on the future, while delivering real results for their customers today. They retain the entrepreneurial spirit which drove their early success but they are always evolving, and having lots of fun while they’re at it.

An inclusive culture is one that values the diversity of thought, experience, personal preferences, and background, and where people are provided with equal access to opportunities. At SEEK, Wellness, Diversity, and Inclusion are embedded and celebrated in their culture in the way their people interact with each other and how they engage with the communities they operate in.

Recruitment process

Throughout the SEEK hiring process, you will have the space and opportunity to show them who you are, what you're great at and how you want to develop. You may be asked to present a case study, demonstrate some of your previous work or complete testing relevant to the role you are applying for. They value diversity of thought and want to see what you can bring that no one else can.

  1. Connect - the first step is to connect, this is usually in the form of an application to a job they post
  2. Chat - they are keen to get to know you over the phone or via video to clarify your interest in SEEK, share more about the role and answer any questions
  3. Meet - the first face-to-face interview will be focused on them getting to know you, how you like to work, and showing you what life at SEEK is like
  4. Showcase your skills - Your second interview is an opportunity for you to showcase how you will bring your expertise to the role, in the form of a case study or technical problem for you to solve
  5. Meet the team - SEEK is a collaborative place, so they usually get you to meet the team or stakeholders you will be working with
  6. Their diligence - they may ask you to complete a psychometric assessment, complete any necessary compliance checks and speak to people you have worked with before
  7. Join - they want you on the team. They formalise this by making you an offer, which they hope you will accept!

Benefits

At Seek, here are some of the benefits of working with them:
