Help us design the future!

Across Australia and New Zealand, there is an increasing need to support and manage growth in our communities through the built environment. WSP helps public and private organisations to navigate the complexities of infrastructure investments.

Our Advisory experts deliver insight into how infrastructure investments shape economic outcomes, including goods movement, labour markets, productivity, and broader regional competitiveness. We create positive impacts for communities and the environment by defining and shaping future ready projects collaboratively with our clients.

Net zero economic and a fair transition

WSP is already at the forefront of developing net zero solutions for our clients and communities.

Our economics team contributes to the net zero transmission in three important ways:

  • Projects – we shape and position decarbonisation projects so they’re best placed to attract private sector investment or public funding.
  • Economic driver – with technological innovation creating new industries and new skill needs, we help clients understand and harness net zero as an economic driver.
  • Fair transition – we see the net zero transition as an opportunity for a fast and inclusive economic recovery from COVID-19, one that leaves nobody behind.

If you are motivated to work with clients providing insight into how infrastructure investments shape economic outcomes, including goods movement, labour markets, productivity and broader regional competitiveness, then become a WSP Changemaker!

Pros and cons of working at WSP Australia

Pros

  • Flexible work arrangements: "Very flexible, I can pick my hours as long as I complete the set hours by the end of the week."

  • Supportive team culture: "The people are very nice and kind here. They care very much about my well-being."

  • Opportunities to work on diverse projects: "WSP works on a broad variety of projects, leading to diverse and rewarding work."

  • Work-life balance: "Flexible work hours, lots of people have different work arrangements and it all works fine."

  • Learning and development: "The best thing about working at WSP is the amount of exposure junior engineers get working on different aspects of engineering projects."

Cons

    • High turnover rate: "The high turnover rate."

    • Workload imbalances: "The hours and expectations can be very consuming, and sometimes the pressure of utilisation is a burden."

    • Inconsistent team dynamics: "Team dynamic, salaries, progression differs from team to team and depending on your manager."

    • Career progression: "The progression/promotion process is quite time-consuming and a lot of effort. There doesn't appear to be a lot of flexibility to finish your graduate role early"

    • Graduates on the same pay: "I don't think we do bonuses, and my last pay rise moved me to the same rate as all other 2nd year graduates, most of whom I have more experience. However, I did receive a mid-year pay rise last week, which I appreciate"
