Disability Support at Coles

Accessibility is important to Coles, not just across their stores but all their workplaces and digital platforms. We encourage and support the employment of people with disability and we’re committed to building a team that’s representative of the local communities we’re part of.

In 2021, we became a signatory to the Valuable 500, a CEO-led global movement for disability inclusion in workplaces. Coles was one of only eleven Australian signatories, and the only Australian retailer in the initial group of 500 workplaces.

The Accessibility Team Member Network ColesAbility is a voluntary, team member led, group who aims to raise awareness and advocacy for disability inclusion and amplify the voices of team members with disability.

Leaders across our Supermarkets, Liquor and Coles Express complete Disability Confidence Training—and it’s part of their induction program—to make sure they’re offering great service and support to all their team members and customers. Coles have a gold membership with the Australian Network on Disability, and regularly benchmark their progress against the Access and Inclusion Index, to make sure they keep improving.
